Café des Banques offers delicious, creative comfort food showcasing the ingredients and a menu that depends on the season. Yoann raises nostalgic, reassuring bistro dishes to the level of fine dining. The combinations are right, bold and modern. The menu is always changing, with flagship dishes depending on the season and the chef’s inspiration, complemented by suggestions of the day.

This fine cuisine can be enjoyed à la carte, on a business menu served only at lunchtime or by trusting the chef to surprise you with his inspiration of the moment. 

 

A sea breeze

Yoann draws on his Norman roots to create his menus. His iodised memories can be found in cuisine that gives pride of place to wild fish. Line-caught sea bass, sea bream, scallops and deliciously lacquered octopus are regular features on the Café des Banques menu.

Sublime products

For meats, Yoann draws inspiration from his terroir and works with small-scale Swiss livestock farmers of the highest quality, especially during the festive season at the end of the year, when poultry from the Domaine du Nant d’Avril is on the menu. We work with the Minder family farm in Avenches, which raises Limousin beef. Our lamb comes from the Chandossel sheepfold in the Swiss Pre-Alps.

Our menu showcases vegetables, whether as side dishes or vegetarian meals. Yoann has a soft spot for mushrooms, working with ceps, morels and truffles, depending on what’s in season.

There is no great meal without great wine.
For a perfect fine dining experience, the Café des Banques wine cellar boasts almost 500 different references: classics, wines by young vintners who deserve to be in the spotlight, grands crus, rare vintages and little treasures from from Switzerland, France and Italy. Our varied selection will delight the most sophisticated palates. 

As for Swiss wines, the best of the terroirs of Geneva, Valais, Neuchâtel and the Grisons are on hand. We have forged close ties with brilliant local winemakers such as Mermoud Vignerons, Stéphane Gros, Domaine de la Rochette, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz, Denis Mercier and F & C Obrecht. Burgundy, the Loire and Bordeaux are well represented with a wide choice of outstanding wines. Our passionate sommelier will be delighted to advise you and suggest delicious pairings.
